Product Summary

The basic products used in two way radio systems are, handportable units (walkie talkies), vehicle units and base station equipment.

Handportable   Base station equipment   Vehicle units
Handportable units can be used on their own in so called “back to back” mode for short range ‘on site' systems.

Base station equipment is used where a central repeater is used to enable greater range in wide area systems or better coverage within an ‘on site' system. Also known as ‘Talk Through' operation.

Vehicle units are normally installed in a vehicle , have a more powerfull transmitter and a more efficient antenna which is fitted to the vehicle body. The units are also used as simple desktop base units where repeater functions are not required.

To complement these three basic equipments there are additional units which can be used to increase the functionality of any system. Examples are Remote Controllers for base stations, GPS  modules for handportables or vehicle units, telephone interconnect modules, trunking control modules and mandown modules.
At the user interface there are many accessories a variety of headsets, remote speaker/microphones, carrying cases and chargers.
With the changing technology and progressive convergence of computers and communications new variations of the above products are becoming available which utilise digital technology allowing greater functionality, clearer speech quality and easier integration with IT systems.
